The Governor’s Commission for Suicide Prevention is looking for either a high school junior or senior to serve on the commission to ensure the student’s voice is heard.

This would be a great opportunity for a junior or senior student. The commission meets every 2 months on the third Wednesday from 1 p.m.-3 p.m., alternating between Spring Grove Hospital Center Campus in Catonsville and other locations

Interested students must submit a formal application by November 16, 2018.   The application link is http://govappointments.maryland.gov/instructions-for-filling-out-the-general-application-form/   (outside website). Each of these seats requires the member to be appointed by the Governor.

HIGH SCHOOL MEMBER:

i.  The Governor shall appoint a high school student in his or her junior or senior year as a member.

ii.  The high school member is appointed for a term of one academic year.

iii.  The high school member may be reappointed, while he or she is still in high school, to a second term ending in the July following his or her graduation.
