During her term as President, Angelina hopes to empower Maryland’s youth to become the leaders of the present. With MASC’s second year back in person, she is dedicated to ingraining a welcoming and supportive environment into every MASC event so that students take away a lifetime of memories.
Bio: Anousha Khan (she/her) is a senior from Frederick County (FCASC). She has been attending MASC events since 7th grade and this is her 3rd and final year on MASC’s executive board- a very bittersweet achievement. Previously, she has served as the Division 6 Liaison and Operations Director. Outside of MASC, she serves as a Student Representative on the Frederick County Public Schools Racial Equity Committee and is a member of various clubs and societies including Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honors Society), Academic Team, Fashion Club, and is also starting a Muslim Student Association at her school. Aside from the growing list of extracurriculars, she is Dually enrolled at her local community college taking pre-law courses and intends on going into law in the future. The biggest thing that compelled Anousha to get involved in MASC is its sense of community and willingness to help others grow, she hopes she can facilitate this for Maryland leaders and set an example for those who come after her.
Bio: Lumina Zhang (she/her) is a junior at Winston Churchill High School in Montgomery County. She has been involved in student leadership in her school, county, and statewide student governments. From 2022-2023, she served in MASC as the Division 4 Liaison, where she focused on closing the opportunity gap and ensuring equity. Lumina is also the Co-Founder and Co-President of Eco MoCo, a student-led organization that advocates for the environment while providing leadership opportunities. At school, she is the president of multiple student organizations, including EcoArt, Pop for a Cause Churchill, and the Chinese Honor Society. Outside of advocacy, Lumina enjoys playing piano, singing, composing music, and trying on business casual outfits. This year, as MASC Treasurer, Lumina is excited to implement her F.I.S.H.Y. (Fundraise, Innovate, Sustain, Help, Your Voice) plan to bring MASC to the next level as an organization and to ensure that no student ever doubts (or feels fishy!) about their place in leadership.
