• Tuesday, August 4, 2026: Workshop Presenter Certification Continued & Fall Leadership Conference and Legislative Session Planning Training (check in 8:30 -9:00 a.m.) Optional overnight
• Wednesday, August 5, 2026: Executive Board Meeting –also available via live stream (check-in 9:00-9:30 a.m.) Students may register separately for the Executive Board Meeting (in-person or virtual)
IMPORTANT: Workshop Certification is open to students entering grades 8 through 12. Rising 7th graders must have a school or regional advisor email Mrs. Crawford with a waiver request and recommendation of the student’s leadership experience, including having attended a MASC Conference in the 6th grade. You need to attend all workshops to become certified.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION: If you cannot attend on Monday, but you can attend on Tuesday, you may register for Tuesday afternoon, IF and ONLY IF, you can attend the Saturday, September 19th (location TBD) Workshop Presenter Certification. You would want to arrive in time for lunch on Tuesday at 11:45 a.m. Reach out to Karen.Crawford@mdstudentcouncils.org with questions.
• Registration Fees: Cover food, materials, facility costs, and MASC operating expenses. MASC prefers payment by credit card in advance as materials and food are purchased before the event. If credit card payment is not possible, please bring cash or a check payable to MASC to the on-site check-in (pre-registration is required). MASC cannot process credit card payments on-site at check-in.
• Students and advisors register themself for this event. (No charge to advisors registering for the Wednesday Executive Board meeting.)
• Monday: $23 Bring your lunch, a box of cookies to share (no nut products), and your reusable water bottle – may be washed in the kitchen at any time
• Tuesday: $31
• Wednesday: $20 (if only attending this day, bring a box of cookies (no nut products) to share and your reusable water bottle)

ALL: Bring a packet of cookies to share (no nuts), your reusable water bottle, and the emergency form. Workshop Presenter Certification participants bring a binder (with a cover sleeve) for the workshop presenter handouts. If you were previously certified, please bring your complete binder with handouts.
Optional Overnight: sleeping bag or sheets/light blanket, towel, shower soap, shampoo, shower shoes, etc.

Monday – Workshop Presenter Certification Part I – Check-in on this first day is from 10:00-10:30 a.m. The workshop certification program starts on Monday and concludes on Tuesday before lunch. Students attend workshops to become or recertify as a MASC workshop presenter (optional overnight).
Tuesday – Workshop Presenter Certification Part II & Fall Leadership Conference (FLC) Planning/Training – Presenter certification concludes before lunch with a recognition ceremony. After lunch, presenters will have the opportunity to brainstorm and plan workshops (high school) for FLC and/or learn the middle school workshops and program for this conference (optional overnight).
Wednesday – The Executive Board Meeting – The first MASC Executive Board meeting of the school year (one of at least four held annually) includes officer and staff reports and introduces officers and appointed staff to regional presidents, regional middle school representatives, SMOBs/SROBs/student commissioners, regional advisors, school advisors, and other interested student leaders. Business items include approval of the Operating Principles, conference updates or bids, approval of the Student Member on the State Board of Education calendar of events, regional reports, and guest presentations. ALL RIDES on Wednesday must be at the Smith Center NO LATER THAN 3:30 p.m
