What is MASC?

Maryland Association of Student Councils

About

The Maryland Association of Student Councils (MASC) is a statewide organization of public and private secondary school student councils. We bring students together across Maryland to strengthen student leadership, support student councils, and elevate student voice in decisions that affect students.

Our mission

The mission of MASC is to foster a statewide environment for all secondary school students to express and exchange opinions and ideas, develop leadership skills, and promote student representation and involvement in groups and organizations impacting the lives of students.

What we focus on

Leadership development

We build student capacity through conferences, workshops, and training that help student councils lead effectively in their schools and communities.

Student voice and advocacy

We connect students with statewide conversations and decision-making, and we support students who represent Maryland’s student perspective in official advisory and policy spaces.

Statewide connection

We strengthen collaboration across regions so student leaders can share ideas, coordinate initiatives, and learn from one another across middle and high schools.
