Bio: Michael is a senior at Magruder High School in Montgomery County. He previously served as a State Legislative Coordinator and is excited to broaden and centralize MASC’s advocacy impact at all levels of government. Michael is currently serving his second term as the Director of Legislative Affairs for the Montgomery County Regional Student Government Association (MCR-SGA) where he enjoys advocating for all MCPS students. At school, he serves his community as the Senior Class President and DECA Co-President. Outside of academics, he loves breaking records on the track, playing soccer, and drinking Dr. Pepper.
Bio: Zaria Naqvi is a senior at Winston Churchill High School. She is deeply passionate about student advocacy and school safety. She has been a part of the Maryland Association of Student Councils (MASC) since 8th grade, where she previously served as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Coordinator. Zaria has also been actively involved in the Montgomery County Regional Student Government Association (MCR) for all four years of high school, having served as Chief of Staff and Task Force Director. She recently served as the Legislative Chair of the Maryland Governor’s Youth Advisory Council, where she advocated for youth-focused policies and school safety initiatives. With a strong interest in computer science, Zaria enjoys app and web development and has conducted research on the ethical use of artificial intelligence in schools.
Bio: Gavin Falcón is a junior at Long Reach High School in Howard County and currently serves as President of the Howard County Association of Student Councils (HCASC). He has been involved in student leadership for the past five years and is passionate about amplifying student voice, building community, and promoting safe school environments. Outside of student government, he enjoys lacrosse, martial arts, speech & debate, and staying active. Gavin loves meeting new people—feel free to reach out and connect!
Bio: Vanessa Li (she/her) is a senior at Leonardtown High School. In the Maryland Association of Student Councils (MASC), she previously served as the Division 5 Liaison, where she worked to engage student leaders from Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s County by initiating several projects such as the Division 5 Conference. Vanessa currently serves as the St. Mary’s County Public Schools Student Member of the Board of Education (SMCPS SMOB), and previously was the First Vice-President of the St. Mary’s Association of Student Councils (SMASC). In her school, she is the President of the Principal’s Advisory Council and Vice-President of the Student Government Association.
Beyond student leadership, Vanessa enjoys singing as a part of her school’s Chamber Choir, teaching music to elementary schoolers, and performing at her local nursing homes. This year, as MASC’s State Legislative Affairs Coordinator, Vanessa leads the Civic Engagement Committee (CEC) and works towards youth-focused state legislative and advocacy efforts.
Bio: Will is a senior at Severna Park High School in Anne Arundel County. Outside MASC, he serves as the Secretary of Legislation for the Chesapeake Regional Association of Student Councils (CRASC). In his free time, Will enjoys reading, is passionate about history, and loves running. He is very excited about his engagement with students and legislators throughout Maryland.
Bio: Foresight Ogungbe, class of 2026 at Eastern Technical High School, currently serves as the Baltimore County Student Member of the Board of Education, representing over 111,000 students across the district. She is a passionate student leader who is dedicated to amplifying youth voice, advancing equitable policy, and building inclusive communities. She formerly served as Class President, Vice President of the Baltimore County Student Councils (BCSC), and Chair of the Student Advocates for School Safety (SASS) under the Maryland Center for School Safety, where she attended the Subcabinet meetings. At the state level, she is serving as the State Legislative Affairs Coordinator (SLACer) for the Maryland Association of Student Councils (MASC) and finishing her second year as a member of the Maryland Youth Advisory Council, appointed by the Speaker of the House of Delegates. Outside of her leadership roles, she enjoys reading, watching TV, and having in-depth conversations about politics. She is very excited in her role in MASC.
