MASC knows that many of our schools and regions are looking for ways to help those in Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina. MASC reached out and received this information from the executive director of the North Carolina Association of Student Councils (NCASC).
“……In North Carolina, the outpouring of supplies has been so overwhelming that groups in the Western part of the state cannot sort and deliver as quickly as things that are coming in. Numerous organizations are offering help and assistance. I have identified these below….”
Salvation Army – An organization that gathers not just supplies for those impacted by natural disasters, but towards programs to assist with reconstruction after a natural disaster. Donations also go towards supporting volunteers in the recovery effort.
United Way NC – Currently collecting funds to use for rebuilding projects that will start as the recovery process progresses.
Samaritan’s Purse – An organization that is headquartered in Boone NC (one of the areas of Western NC severely impacted). This group assists with the recovery effort and also works with three area hospitals to meet the needs of the injured and those in the region who need assistance.
